Union Minister of State for External Affairs Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh visited the Airport to receive the returnees.

Taking to Twitter Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh wrote, “Happy to welcome all back to the motherland who have been safely evacuated from Ukraine. Feeling proud of the efforts of the government of India led by PM @NarendraModi Ji for relentless effort of #OperationGanga for safely evacuation.”

Meanwhile, Northeast Live spoke exclusively to Union MoS Rajkumar Ranjan Singh who informed that close to 17000 Indians have been safely evacuated, and a total of 9 students arrived in Manipur from Ukraine. These include the 3 students who landed at the Imphal Airport today, consisting of 2 females and 1 male. 

It may be mentioned that the government of India working tirelessly to evacuate Indian nationals and bring them back home under Operation Ganga those who are stranded in Ukraine due to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Earlier in the morning a special flight, carrying as many as 160 Indian nationals evacuated from Ukraine, landed in New Delhi from Budapest in Hungary.

On Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv stated that they will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safe return of Indian students from the Ukrainian city of Sumy, and requested that they maintain their strength for a few more hours.
