The Congress has moved the Chief Electoral Officer seeking repoll in at least 4 polling stations under the Wanghem assembly constituency.
Congress’ Wangkhem candidate K. Meghachandra alleged that his rival candidate from the BJP Y. Nabachandra Singh had used muscle power during the 2nd phase of elections to intimidate the voters.
In a letter to Manipur CEO Rajesh Agarwal, Congress alleged that there was the rigging of votes in the 4 polling stations under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Haokha Kiyam.
Voting for Wangkhem took place yesterday March 5 during the 2nd phase of Manipur polls. It is to be mentioned that voting by and large was successful but there were reports of EVM damage as stated by a press release of the Election Commission of India
