Staff and owner of a Guwahati pub attack cop, pours diesel on him, tries to set him on fire

The Basistha police have arrested two people including the bar owner in connection with the case.

A shocking and violent incident transpired at a pub in Guwahati, where a few members of the pub allegedly attacked a police officer. They even poured diesel on him and tried to set him on fire.

The policeman has been identified as Pradeep Basumatary.

The distressing incident occurred at a pub and grill in Guhawati’s Basistha area late last night.

As per reports, following complaints from locals, Pradeep Basumatary went to inspect the bar when he came under attack from the staff and the owner of the pub.

The attackers even attempted to set him on fire and poured diels and oil on him, said Basumatary.

The Basistha police have arrested two people including the bar owner in connection with the case.

An investigation into the matter is underway.
