Arunachal weightlifter Sosar Tama wins bronze medal at Khelo India Youth Games 2023

Sosar Tama, weightlifter from Arunachal Pradesh has won a bronze medal in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Chennai.

Tama has won the medal in the weightlifting 55kg category. He lifted 91 kgs in snatch and 121 kgs in clean and jerk, for a total 212 kgs.

Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein congratulated Sosar Tama for his achievement and extended his best wishes for all his future endeavors.

“Extending my heartiest congratulations to Sosar Tama, on securing the bronze medal in the Weightlifting 55kg category at the #KheloIndia Youth Games 2023 in Chennai. With an impressive 212 kg total lift, Tama has demonstrated exceptional strength and resilience, cementing his way for even bigger accomplishments in the future. A big applause for his hard work and dedication, serving as inspiration for young aspirants in the world of weightlifting. Best wishes in all his future endeavors,” Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein posted on X.

Besides, Sosar Tama, Judo player Tang Tada from the state also won a bronze medal in the below 50 kg category against his opponent Roshan Kumar of Chandigarh.

Congratulating Sosar Tama and Tang Tada, Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to X and wrote, “Congratulations to Sosar Tama & Tang Tada of Arunachal Pradesh on clinching Bronze in Weightlifting and Judo events, respectively, in the #kheloIndiaYouthGames at Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Keep up the hard work – your dedication is sure to lead to even greater success.”

The Khelo India Youth Games 2023 is underway in Chennai, Tamil Nadu from January 19. The games will conclude on January 31.
