Simran Gurung Shines With Four Goals In Sikkim’s Commanding Victory Over Gujarat

This win gives Sikkim a strong start to the tournament, boosting their confidence ahead of their next match against Tripura on October 22.


Four goals from the outstanding Simran Gurung secured a 4-1 victory for Sikkim in their opening match against Gujarat on Sunday in the ongoing 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship 2024 at Agartala.

“The match was defined by an outstanding performance from Simran Gurung, who single-handedly dominated the game with all four goals. Gurung’s remarkable haul secured Sikkim’s first victory and showcased her immense talent on the field,” informed the Sikkim Football Association (SFA) in a press statement.

Despite Gujarat’s determined efforts, they managed just one goal, while Sikkim’s defence held firm. This win gives Sikkim a strong start to the tournament, boosting their confidence ahead of their next match against Tripura on October 22.
