Silchar Polytechnic teacher kills wife, flees from the scene

According to sources, the accused identified as Afzalur Rahman,a teacher at the Silchar Polytechnic resided in a rented house in Uttar Krishnapur with his wife and two children.

In a shocking and a heinous incident that unfolded in Uttar Krishnapur under Sonai constituency of Cachar district on late Friday night, a man allegedly attacked his wife following a heated argument with a sharp machete, leading to her death and later fled from the scene.

According to sources, the accused identified as Afzalur Rahman,a teacher at the Silchar Polytechnic resided  in a rented house in Uttar Krishnapur with his wife and two children.

As per the locals, the victim sustained severe injuries with multiple wounds on her head, neck, and arms, resulting in critical situation. Despite the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, she succumbed to her injuries.

The police have recovered the weapon used by Afzalur to attack his wife and have launched a rigorous search operation to apprehend the accused. The incident has stirred up a tensed situation in the area.

Further investigation in going on into the matter.
