Sikkim’s Paljor Namgyal Girls School students depart for Malaysia International Marching Arts Championships

A 21-member team of talented students from Paljor Namgyal Girls School embarked on a thrilling journey to Malaysia today to participate in the International Marching Arts Championships.
The championships will begin from 7th to 9th September 2023 in Johor Bahru.
The group will be guided by dedicated teachers, Rajiv Thapa and Mannamit Lepcha, showcasing the school’s continuous commitment to developing musical talent and cultural pride.
The Paljor Namgyal Girls School participating in the event in Malaysia is a remarkable achievement as it marks the first appearance of a Sikkim pipe band on the international stage. These talented students, armed with bagpipes and drums, are ready to make history while proudly promoting their school and country.
The students were sent off with heartfelt best-wishes from their school community. Principal Jem Pandi Targain of PNG School and President Eli Mit Rai of the PNGITES Alumni Association expressed their profound pride and extended their best wishes for the success in this prestigious competition.
The departure was marked by blessings and prayers for a safe journey and victory from Rev. Yozun Sherpa of EPCS, Gangtok, invoking divine guidance for the students’ success.
