Sikkim tops NE states in effectively addressing public grievances, Manipur last with 10.70%

Assam occupied the second slot and Arunachal Pradesh the third slot in resolving people’s issues in record time
In a recent development, Sikkim has topped the list in efficiently tackling public grievances with 66.70 per cent by resolving all 176 grievances with an average closure time of just 43 days for cases reported from January to June according to the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) report of June 2023.
In the second and third slots are Assam and Arunachal Pradesh respectively, Assam with a score of 57.45 per cent of grievance redressal, and Arunachal Pradesh with 52.30 per cent of grievances addressed during the period under review. Among the northeastern states, Assam had the maximum number of 28,271 grievances between January and June this year.
Tripura, with a score of 47.26 per cent, addressed 1,388 grievances. Meghalaya secured a score of 46.93 per cent while Mizoram 24.60 per cent in successfully resolving people’s issues.
Nagaland scored just 13.70 per cent, and Manipur a poor 10.70 per cent.
Till June 30, 2023, a total of 3,65,678 grievances have been received by all the states and Union Territories. Additional 1,87,065 grievances were carried forward from 2022. As many as 3,64,468 grievances have been disposed of while 1,88,275 grievances are still pending disposal, the report said.
