Sikkim on Saturday registered 4 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 7.
Of the 4 patients, 2 cases are from South Sikkim and 2 others are from East Sikkim.
Two females from South Sikkim aged 29 and 37, and two males aged 22 and 21 were found to be COVID-19 positive. They have been admitted to the STNM Hospital for treatment.
The 22-year-old man was returning on a bus from Maharashtra, where his test was conducted. The results for which arrived while he was on his way to the state.
The fourth case, a 21-yr-old from East Sikkim is related to a COVID-19 patient who is already admitted at the STNM Hospital.
In the case of the two women from South Sikkim, both were admitted to a quarantine centre in South District and their swab samples were sent to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri for testing, reports of which came back as positive on Saturday.
Earlier, three people were found to be positive and all of them are undergoing treatment at the STNM Hospital.
