Sikkim Policeman Dies After Falling From Bringbong Bridge

In a shocking incident, a police personnel died on Saturday after falling from Bringbong Bridge into the river.

The incident occurred around 10:00–10:10 am while the deceased, identified as NK Changzuth Lepcha, was on his way to duty at Mangan Police Station from Dzongu.

His body was later located and retrieved approximately 8–9 km downstream near Phidang. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

However, the circumstances—whether he jumped or it was an accidental fall—remain unclear and are under investigation.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 14-year-old girl has been found dead in Sikkim’s Nerdang Tashiding.
As per inputs, teenage girl was found dead in her residence on Thursday. Preliminary reports suggest she died by hanging.

The minor, who had dropped out of school after Class IV, had been living with her father and younger brother. Her mother had reportedly left the family several years ago.

Authorities have begun an investigation into the incident.
