The Sikkim government on Monday opened its doors for fully vaccinated tourists who have taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
All persons, including tourists, who have been fully vaccinated, shall be allowed entry from Melli and Rangpo check post, without RT-PCR Negative report, on production of valid vaccination document at the border check post.
The movement of passengers boarding or returning from Pakyong or Bagdogra airports and New Jalpaiguri Railway station in West Bengal will be allowed on the production of journey tickets and negative RT-PCR reports conducted within 72 hours of arrival.
All hotels, guest houses, home stays shall be allowed to operate with 50% capacity ensuring strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol.
Meanwhile, after review of the situation the state home department has decided to revise the existing guidelines with certain relaxations with effect from July 5 till July 12.
Malls, showrooms shall be permitted to operate following COVID-19 protocols. Pillion riders shall now be allowed in all two wheelers.
The Himalayan state had prohibited the entry of tourists since March this year following a surge in Coronavirus cases.
