Sikkim issues Covid advisory following recent spike in cases, state reports 23 fresh cases as of April 6

Citizens have been asked to wear a face mask, wash hands frequently, maintain hand hygiene and social distancing
The Himalayan state Sikkim is experiencing a new spike in Covid-19 cases since last week. The state has reported 23 fresh cases of the infection as of April 6, according to the Sikkim Health department.
With the fresh cases, the number of active cases of the infection in the state has risen to 42.
Out of the 23 fresh cases, 19 were reported from Pakyong district followed by Namchi-2 and one each in Gangtok and Gylshing districts.
Two patients infected with the virus have recovered today making the total number of recoveries 43064 till date.
Meanwhile, in view of the recent rise in Covid-19 cases, State Health Department has issued a new advisory as a precautionary measure and to prevent the spread of the infection further.
Citizens have been asked to wear a face mask, wash hands frequently, maintain hand hygiene and social distancing.
Here are the other precautionary measures, people have been asked to strictly follow:
• Cover nose and mouth while sneezing
• Cvoid overcrowded, poorly ventilated places
• In case of symptoms, isolate, get tested
• Maintain social distance of 6 feet in public places
• Avoid spitting in public places
