Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur who visited the site of the Pakyong greenfield airport said today that he is committed to resolve issues to make the Airport operational.
Governor Mathur assessed the operational challenges facing the greenfield airport as he concluded a two-day visit to Pakyong District. The airport’s issues have significantly impacted Sikkim’s tourism sector, a vital component of the local economy.
During his visit, Governor Mathur engaged in discussions with key stakeholders, including Pamin Lepcha, MLA Gnathang Machong, DC Pakyong, and airport officials. These stakeholders expressed their concerns regarding the obstacles hindering the airport’s operations. After gathering perspectives, the Governor reaffirmed his commitment to resolving these issues.
Governor Mathur emphasized that access to the airport is crucial for economic development and community connectivity.
