Sikkim Cabinet takes key decisions including regularisation of probationary teachers’ jobs and others

Sikkim Cabinet today took several key decisions such as–regularisation of the service of probationary teachers, monthly honorarium of Rs. 5000 for a mid-day meal cook in government schools, 30% reservation of all vacancies for in-service teachers for promotion from pre-primary teacher (PPT) to primary teacher (PRT), from PRT to graduate teacher (GT), and from GT to post-graduate teacher (PGT), and others.
According to the recommendations of the committee constituted by the Department of Education, the state Cabinet has agreed to regularise the service of Probationary Teachers with break in service having not more than two years and occurred once in his/her entire service.
Those whose families donated land in the past to establish educational institutions have been employed as temporary workers; after three years of continuous service, their service will be regularised too.
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) employees working on a temporary basis in various departments in the sikkim government will be done after completion of five years of continuous service.
Honorarium of Rs. 5000/- per month will be granted to the Mid-Day meal cook engaged with the recommendation of the School Management Committee.
The Cabinet has also directed the Education Department to move the proposal for the creation of a cadre for Cluster Resource Coordinator (CRC ) and Block Resource Coordinator (BRC ) under the Education Department.
