Thapa said BJP will not enter into a post-poll alliance and will be strongly fighting against corruption

Names of Sikkim Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President D R Thapa, N K Subba,Tsten Tashi Bhutia and Ugen Nedup Bhutia are likely to be in the first list of the party to be released soon. BJP is planning to contest all the 32 seats in the upcoming Sikkim Assembly elections.
Two-time MLA, D.R. Thapa will contest from Upper Burtuk constituency, 4-time MLA, N K Subba will contest from the Maneybong Dentam seat, 2-time MLA and Convenor of Sikkim Bhutia Lepcha Apex Committee, Tsten Tashi Bhutia will contest from the Sangh constitunecy and Ugen Nedup Bhutia will contest from the Kabi Lungchok seat, sources told Northeast Live.
Speaking to Northeast Live after his return from New Delhi, Thapa reaffirmed the party’s decision to end its alliance with the SKM.
Thapa said BJP will not enter into a post-poll alliance and will be strongly fighting against corruption once elected to power.
Emphasizing the party’s dedication to transparency and progress, Thapa highlighted the dissolution of the alliance as a strategic move to better serve the interests of the people of Sikkim.
He expressed gratitude for the support received from party members and leaders in Delhi, who have committed full backing for the upcoming elections.
Thapa assured that the BJP is prepared to contest the elections and introduce positive change for the state.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Congress in Sikkim announced its first list of 18 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in 2024. Of the 14 names announced, 12 are first-timers.
President of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC), Gopal Chettri will contest from the Chujachen assembly constituency for a fourth term. He is also contesting for the lone Sikkim Lok Sabha seat.
