Shocker from Sikkim: School teacher arrested for allegedly molesting 12 girl students

Police registered a case against the teacher and arrested him under provisions of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

A teacher of a school in Sikkim has been arrested for allegedly molesting as many as 12 girl students of the school.

The arrested teacher has been identified as a language instructor at the Soreng Senior Secondary School.

The teacher was arrested following an FIR filed by a staff of the school at the Soreng Police Station on May 10.

In the FIR, the staff of the school stated that on May 8, he received a complaint from 12 students between the age of 8-14 years who accused the teacher of allegedly physically assaulting them for a long time.

Police registered a case against the teacher and arrested him under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
