In a big blow to the Congress in Assam, influential leader from Barak valley and former minister Gautam Roy has quit the party.
Yet another setback for the Congress after Rajya Sabha MP and party chief whip Bhubaneswar Kalita joined the BJP in New Delhi yesterday.
Gautam Roy is also ready to jump ship to the BJP. Talking exclusively to our group channel News Live, Gautam Roy expressed unhappiness over the status of the party in the state.
The senior Congress leader also heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering in development in the Barak valley. Roy also asserted that everyone must support the Prime Minister and BJP for the sake of development.
Gautam Roy also said that he would join the BJP in a day or two. Meanwhile, the Congress leader has already send his resignation letter state Cong president.
