A directive in this regard has been issued by DCP (East) Ramandeep Kaur. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code empowers a magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than five people in an area.
The city has witnessed multiple rallies and protests especially from 70 organizations including the KMSS in front of Janata Bhawan following the Centre’s push to pass the citizenship bill.
