Quakes strike Meghalaya and Manipur

Quakes measuring 3.7 and 3.2 hit Meghalaya and Manipur respectively this morning

Minor tremors were felt in the two northeastern states of Meghalaya and Manipur early Tuesday morning.

The first quake of 3.2 magnitude was felt in Noney district of Manipur at 2.46 AM.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.2, Occurred on 28-02-2023, 02:46:39 IST, Lat: 24.67 & Long: 93.66, Depth: 25 Km ,Location: Noney, Manipur, India”, the National Centre for Seismological (NCS) said in a tweet.

The second earthquake of magnitude 3.7 hit Tura district of Meghalaya at 6.57 AM, the NCS said.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.7, Occurred on 28-02-2023, 06:57:18 IST, Lat: 26.04 & Long: 90.11, Depth: 29 Km ,Location: 59km N of Tura, Meghalaya”, the NCS said in a tweet.

No injury to anyone or any damage to property has been reported due to the jolts.
