The Purvanchal Expressway, a 341-kilometer 6-lane expressway project is set to open for the public in Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the expressway on November 16.

The Expressway project of Rs 42,000 crore will connect Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

It starts from Lucknow’s Chand Sarai hamlet and will pass through Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur.

Along the Purvanchal Expressway, a 3.2-kilometer runway has been built near Kurebhar hamlet in Sultanpur.

At the inauguration, Indian Air Force fighter (IAF) aircrafts will put on an air show on the Expressway’s airstrip, showcasing their prowess.

Rafale fighters will perform a landing rehearsal on the highway today and tomorrow.

The project has been developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this longest expressway on July 14, 2018.

Avnish Awasthi, chairman  of UPEIDA said the process of preparing the airstrip has been completed.

He stated that about 30 jets would fly in from the five major airbases to land on the expressway airstrip.

The UP government led by Yogi Adityanath said that the Expressway will not only facilitate industrial activity, but will also help to develop Purvanchal and generate employment for a significant number of people.

On the day of inauguration, Sukhoi-30 MKI and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft will also land on the Expressway in the presence of PM Modi.

The final touches are being applied to the preparations to guarantee that the warplanes have no problems landing and taking off during the D-day touch and go operations.

Senior IAF officials have also inspected it several times.

On both sides of the strip, 15-meter borders have been built. Vehicles coming onto the runway for cleaning have also been prohibited, and the painting of the airstrip’s indicator has been completed.

A stairway has also been built to connect the airfield to the platform below.

Although the Purvanchal Expressway is 341 kilometres long, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that it be extended to Ballia, making it 354 kilometres long.

Meanwhile, on both sides of the strip, service lanes are being built.

Following the PMO’s approval for the expressway’s inauguration, the administration and UPEDA have been working on final preparations.
