Allegations and counter-allegations fly thick and fast over the pre poll violence in Manipur’s Andro Assembly Constituency.

NPP candidate from Andro L. Sanjoy Singh has accused rival BJP candidate Th Shyamkumar of orchestrating the attack on his father.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live NPP candidate L Sanjoy Singh alleged that BJP supporters and brother of Th Shyamkumar were involved in the attack on his father. This is the first time since the incident that the NPP has directly accused BJP of indulging in pre-poll violence.

Meanwhile, reacting to NPP’s allegations Andro BJP candidate Th Shyamkumar made a counter charge against his poll rival. Shyamkumar alleged that L. Sanjoy’s security personnel shot his driver who is undergoing treatment at the Raj Medicity in Imphal.

According to the BJP candidate, everything will be clear if the police initiate a proper probe. Besides, Th. Shyamkumar also denied the involvement of his brother in the Andro shootout and termed the allegations as baseless and malafide.
