In a major operation, Karimganj Police seized 200 bottles of banned cough syrup Fencidil from a logistics truck at the Assam-Tripura border.
The police recovered the bottles, with a market value of over Rs 10 lakh, during a routine check by Karimganj’s Churaibari police near the Assam-Mizoram-Tripura border area on April 3 afternoon.
The truck, which was coming from Guwahati and was supposed to be headed to Agartala, Tripura, was intercepted by the police.
Upon searching the vehicle, the police found the Fensidil bottles hidden inside the logistics carrier. The driver of the truck, identified as Ranjit Baishya, was immediately arrested.
