In a grand launch programme held at Sikar town in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 14th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. During the event, Tripura’s Agriculture Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, highlighted the positive impact of this initiative on the farmers in Tripura.
As part of the 14th instalment, over 2,19,708 farmers from Tripura will directly receive their share from a total sum of Rs 43.94 crore in their bank accounts.
This latest release is part of a nationwide distribution of Rs 18,000 crore, benefiting approximately 8.5 crore farmers across the country.
Throughout 14 instalments of the PM-KISAN scheme, Tripura’s farmers have been granted a substantial sum of Rs 599.38 crore. This financial assistance has played a vital role in enabling farmers to double their income and achieve self-reliance.
Accompanied by senior department officials, the Agriculture Minister of Tripura observed the programme led by Prime Minister Modi, where several development projects were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation.
Among the significant projects launched was the establishment of more than 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) aimed at bolstering agricultural infrastructure. Another crucial milestone was the introduction of “Urea Gold,” a new variety of Urea coated with Sulphur, which promises to enhance agricultural productivity.
In a move towards digitalization, 1600 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) were onboarded on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), facilitating smoother access to markets for the farming community.
