Patkai Motor-cycle rally on drug awareness to Pangsau Pass flagged off

The Patkai Motorcycle rally organized by the Assam Rifles will be culminating on Monday at the historic Pangsau Pass on the Indo-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh. The rally will be flagged in by Jairampur MLA Laisem Simai and Brigadier Swarn Singh.
Living up to its sobriquet, “Friends of the Hill People”, the Assam Rifles Battalions deployed in the TCL region have collectively embarked upon a noble mission to create awareness among the local population and youth against drug abuse.
The Assam Rifles in conjunction with two Motorcycle Clubs of the Wancho tribe, namely, ‘Roaring Rangers’ and ‘Head Hunters’ organized the three-day Motorcycle Rally which began from Kanubari.
The motorcyclists, accompanied by Assam Rifle bike riders traveled through Longding, Khonsa, and Changlang and finally end their rally in Jairampur today.
The event was flagged off by Kanubari MLA Gabriel D Wangsu on Saturday in the presence of officials of civil administration, police, and Heads of Civil Society Organisations.
During their journey, the riders promoted the concept of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in line with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav among the residents of the TCL region.
Meanwhile, the event witnessed fervent participation from the local youth and CSOs who welcomed the motorcycle riders with fanfare in Longding and Khonsa.
The locals expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for taking up the noble initiative.
