The police confiscated 260 liters of illicit liquor, and 15,100 milliliters of beer
In a significant move, the East Khasi Hills district police seized over 1 lakh litre of India-made foreign liquor (IFML). The police confiscated 260 litres of illicit liquor and 15,100 millilitres of beer.
During the puja celebrations, the East Khasi Hills district police took action to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents in the city. The police, under the leadership of SP (City) Vivek Syiem, conducted several vice raids and intensified patrolling efforts.
These vice raids were carried out in various areas, including Paltan Bazar, Jeep Stand, Mawblei area, Khlieh Iew, Meat Market, Mawlonghat, Urkaliar, Laitumkhrah Market, Mawbah, Jhalupara, and Polo Market.
This proactive action by the police aims to maintain law and order during the festive period and to ensure the safety of the public.
