Arunachal Pradesh is likely to roll back the anti-conversion law which was passed in the year 1978 mainly to check proselytization.
Reacting to Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s latest plans to repeal the anti-conversion law, the Nyishi Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society has said that such an act can potentially damage the very basic structure of indigenous faith and culture of the state.
In a press release, the organisation said that indigenous faiths and cultures of Arunachal Pradesh are languishing under the persistent and aggressive influences of the foreign cultures.
Talking exclusively to Northeast Live, the organisation’s president Pai Dawe said that the state government must not carry out such a step in the interest of the people and the indigenous culture of the state.
