NSCN-IM firm on demand for separate flag & constitution

First Published: 15th April, 2023 22:12 IST

The NSCN-IM has once again reiterated its decision to stick to its demand for a separate flag and constitution.

In a statement today, the NSCN-IM stated the Government of India must implement the August 3 Framework Agreement in letter and spirit and recognize the Naga National flag and constitution. The latest response of the NSCN-IM comes just about 48 hours after the crucial meet between interlocutor AK Mishra and NSCN-IM leadership held on Thursday in Chumuokedima. The NSCN-IM made the above statement while responding to Washington D.C.-based Naga-American Council which claimed on April 14 that forcing the Indian flag on the Naga people is as offensive as the Nagas forcing India to recognize their flag.
