The final draft of the National Register of Citizens will not be published as scheduled on June 30. NRC state co-ordinator Prateek Hajela further disclosed that the hearing for fixing a new date of publication will be held on July 2.

Citing reasons for the inability to publish the final draft on scheduled time, NRC state co-ordinator Prateek Hajela said that devastating floods had hampered the process of updating the citizens register for at least 8-10 days.

However, the co-ordinator maintained that authorities will leave no stone unturned to publish the final draft at the earliest once it receives fresh notifications from the apex court.
