With the election fever gripping poll-bound Manipur, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) will be kicking off their election campaign on February 16 at Senapati district.

The party has also invited Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to campaign for NPF in Manipur.

Speaking to the media, NPF leader and former chief minister TR Zeliang said NPF has invited CM Rio to campaign in Manipur. While Rio has agreed in principle the Chief Minister is yet to consult his party workers.

Zeliang added NPF will kick off the campaign at Senapati district on February 16 and hopes, CM Neiphiu Rio will join them in the kick-off.

Speaking on the candidature Zeliang added, NPF has allotted tickets to the right candidates.

He also exuded confidence on winning all the 10 seats and being the deciding factor in forming the new government.

Elections in Manipur are scheduled to be held in two phases. The first phase will be held on February 27 and the second phase will be held on March 3. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
