Northeast Live video-Journalist Binod Tamang selected for 1st Kalyan Barooah Awards

In a proud moment for Northeast Live, the channel’s Sikkim Video-Journalist, Binod Tamang has been selected for the 1st ever “Kalyan Barooah Award” in the Freelance Videography Category.

The award will be presented by ‘My Home India’, in collaboration with North East Media Forum, on December 11 at the Constitution Club in New Delhi.

The “Kalyan Barooah Award” is being organised in remembrance of Kalyan Barooah, a veteran journalist and long-time North East correspondent of The Assam Tribune in New Delhi. He passed away during the 2nd wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 along with his wife Nilakshi Bhattacharyya, who was also a journalist with The Times of India.

The Jury comprising of veteran journalists Ashish Gupta, CK Nayak and Utpal Borpujari, has selected five media personalities including Northeast Live’s Binod Tamang for their outstanding performance and contribution to the field of journalism.
