As part of her 3-day visit to Nagaland, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today paid her maiden visit to Mon district.

In a tweet, Sitharaman said the branch will cater to 26,000 strong populations directly and is expected to have an extended catchment area of 2.5 lakh population.

Addressing the gathering during the inauguration, the Finance Minister stated that the branch will provide the people of the Mon district with state-of-the-art services like online banking services, digital products, retail loans, and improved business opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister also virtually inaugurated three other Axis Bank branches today at Demow and Gohpur in Assam and Madanrting in Meghalaya.

Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak, Secretary of Department of Financial Services Sanjay Malhotra, MD Axis Bank Amitabh Chaudhry and senior officials of the state government were also present on the occasion.

It may be mentioned here that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is also slated to address the Bankers Conclave at cultural hall Kohima, in a short while from now.
