Night football tournament kicks off in Meghalaya

The first-ever Night Football Knockout tournament illuminated the grounds of Umroi, marking a significant milestone in Ri Bhoi District’s sports landscape.
The Night Football Tournament organized by the Tbeh Jingshai Umroi Football Association kicked off on Tuesday evening at the Umroi football ground, with the inaugural ceremony graced by Damanbait Lamare, the local MLA of Umroi Constituency.
The opening match of the tournament featured a clash between Bhoi Zone and Clarissa.
The teams displayed their prowess with the determination to emerge victorious in the ceremony’s opening act.
In both the first and second halves, the Ri Bhoi Zone team outshone the Clarissa team, securing a decisive 2-0 victory.
The event aims to provide a stage for talented youth while enticing football enthusiasts who, due to their busy schedules during the day, find it challenging to attend traditional daytime tournaments.
