Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday held a high-level meeting along with his cabinet colleagues and top health department officials to take stock of the state’s preparedness to tackle any eventuality arising out of the coronavirus threat.

Altogether 33 persons in the state, with travel history to China and affected countries have been kept under surveillance.

The Nagaland Chief Minister expressed satisfaction on the steps taken by the Health department.

Nagaland Chief Secretary and the Directorate of Health and family Welfare led by its Principal Director Vizolie Z Soukhrie were also present in high level meeting.

Nyan Kikon, State Nodal Officer Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) & Deputy Director Directorate of Health and family Welfare speaking to NE Live informed that the 33 persons are still under surveillance.

Speaking on the state level preparedness Kikon said, screenings of passengers started at Dimapur Airport from 30 January and daily updations is being done to the Central surveillance Unit, the district surveillance Units have been put on high alert and are on maximum vigil.
