Nagaland: Assam Rifles recover unexploded bombs, ammo from school in Zunheboto

Zunheboto Coy of 11 Assam Rifles on Monday recovered ammunition and unexploded ordnance (UX0s) from the campus of Cornerstone Higher Secondary School in Zunheboto in Nagaland.
The recovered items included 13 numbers of 09 x 60 MM Mortar Bombs. The discovery was made following reliable inputs received by the Assam Rifles (AR), AR sources said.
According to AR officials the team of 11 AR along with district police reached the site at around 1 PM yesterday and carried out the search operation.
The area was cordoned off and locals have been asked not to venture towards the school campus.
The area has been searched using metal detectors. They further added that a thorough search of the whole campus in underway.
Earlier, in 2017, similar type of ammunition and explosives was recovered from the site.
