Nagaland: 2 ex-Axis Bank employees arrested for embezzling Rs 14.62 lakh in Wokha

On inquiry, it was ascertained that the duo involved in embezzling bank money without the knowledge of their authority, Soriso said.
The Nagaland Police arrested two former employees of a private sector bank for allegedly embezzling Rs 14, 62,500 from the bank account of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha, that the bank has been maintaining since January 8, 2013.
According to a statement from Additional SP & PRO Wokha Police, K Soriso, a complaint was received from Axis Bank branch head Gaijinlung Kamai regarding financial misconduct involving two employees identified as Lochumbeni Erui, a cashier, and Tungdemo Murry, an assistant sales manager.
“As per preliminary enquiry conducted, it was ascertained that the accused Thungdemo Murry was residing at Dimapur and the other accused Lochumbenj Erui was residing in Delhi, since the duo had resigned from the job after the incident”, Soriso said.
“On inquiry, it was ascertained that the duo involved in embezzling bank money without the knowledge of their authority”, Soriso added.
It was also ascertained that they have also given a confession letter to the erstwhile Bank Head Kahuto Achumi regarding their involvement in school fee embezzlement, it further added.
A case was registered based on these findings and that the accused are under police remand for further investigation.
