In a big development regarding the Naga peace talks, the Core Committee on Naga Political issue is slated to meet the North-East Democratic Alliance or NEDA Convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today.
Nagaland Chief Minister along with Dy.CM Y.Patton, UDA Chairman TR Zeliang, UDA Co-Chairman & NPF Leader Azo Nienu, along with a few legislators from NDPP, BJP, NPF, and Independent legislator Minister Tongpang Ozukum is slated to meet NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati today.
Thereafter, the committee is said to leave for the national capital Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Reportedly the committee is also hoping to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sources informed that the Core Committee on Naga Political issue is calling on the leaders to give the last push for a solution to the long pending Indo Naga political issue before the 2023 General assembly elections.
The Committee led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be conveying to the leaders to expedite the political process and bring about a logical conclusion, before the general election as talks cannot go on forever.
It needs to be mentioned here that the CCoNPI also held a meeting on September 6 at the Chief Minister’s residence in Sovima Village, Dimapur.
