The NPF (Naga People’s Front) leadership has urged Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to campaign for the party in the Assembly elections in Manipur. Talking to Northeast Live, NPF leader TR Zeliang said that since both his party and the Rio-led NDPP are running an opposition-less government in Nagaland, there are no issues if the Nagaland Chief Minister campaigns for the NPF candidates in Manipur. Zeliang further said that CM Neiphiu Rio is free to campaign for the BJP in constituencies where the NPF is not contesting.

Meanwhile, the NPF on February 2nd officially distributed tickets to candidates who have been finalized to contest in 10 assembly constituencies for the upcoming assembly elections in Manipur. The candidates include- Langhu Paulhring who is in fray from Chandel assembly constituency, D Korungthang Maring from Tengnoupal, Leishiyo Keishing from Phungyar, Ram Muivah from Ukhrul, Khashim Vashum from Chingai, Khoho Siile ANthony from Karong, Losii Dikho from Mao, M. Francis Ngajokpa from Tadubi, Awangbou Newmai from Tamei and K. Panmei from Tamenglong.

NPF president Shurhozelie Liezietsu and veteran party leader TR Zeliang addressed the gathering on the occasion.
