Naga Peace Talks: Amit Shah extends invitation for talks on Sept 15 in Guwahati

ENPO has also threatened to boycott all State and Central elections including the upcoming Nagaland Assembly Elections due next year if their demands are not fulfilled.

In a big development regarding the ongoing demand for a separate state, ‘Frontier Nagaland’ by the Eastern Naga Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), NEDA convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has arranged a meeting between the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the ENPO on the October 15 in Guwahati.

This development comes after the meeting of the Core committee on Naga Political Issue with NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma on 7 September in Guwahati, wherein the committee had apprised the NEDA Convenor on the demand of the ENPO of a separate statehood “Frontier Nagaland”.

It needs to be mentioned here that the ENPO comprising 6 frontier Naga tribes, has been demanding a separate state ‘Frontier Nagaland’ carved out of Nagaland.

ENPO has also threatened to boycott all State and Central elections including the upcoming Nagaland Assembly Elections due next year if their demands are not fulfilled.
