Mizoram woman found dead in Ahmedabad hotel

In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old woman from Mizoram identified as Rebecca Lalawmpuii was found dead in a hotel room in Ahmedabad.
Rebecca who worked at a spa in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, had gone to Hotel Krishna Palace in Thaltej on SG Road with her friends Rafael, Nishant Kansara and Lalawmpuii Zomingliana, police said.
Nishant is a resident of Municipal Karmcharinagar near Sattadhar Crossroads in Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, Lalawmpuii Zomingliana, 26, worked with her at the spa.
They had gone to the hotel on Sunday night. On Monday around 7:10 am, a hotel worker noticed that the door of Lalawmpuii’s room, No. 303, was open. As he entered, he saw her lying there lifeless. He immediately called the police control room, and a team was sent to investigate, said inspector Abhishek Dhawan of Bodakdev police.
After a thorough investigation, the police found no signs of injuries nor any sign of use of drugs or poison on Lalawmpuii’s body. Lalawmpuii’s friend Kansara was not present in the room when her body was found. Police have launched a search for him.
The police have registered a case of accidental death and informed Lalawmpuii’s family in Aizawl.
A panel of doctors conducted the postmortem, and the cause of death will be determined once the report becomes available.
According to police sources, the victim and her friends were known to hotel workers, and they have been frequently visiting the hotel over the last six to eight months.
