The IAF’s Eastern Air Command chief, Air Marshal S. P. Dharkar held a meeting with Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Wednesday and discussed the feasibility of setting up the airport. They also discussed some security matters in the state and in other Northeastern states.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga said that they have already identified two locations for this new infrastructure in the southern part of Mizoram which shares borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Lengpui Airport surrounded by mountains covered in beautiful greenery, offers easier air travel between the hilly region and Guwahati, New Delhi, Kolkata and other parts of the country.
