The Aizawl district administration on Tuesday imposed Section 144 prohibiting assembly of more than five people in the Aizawl Municipal area, with effect from November 10 till November 30.
A prohibitory order issued by the Aizawl District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, R Lalramnghaka said section 144 has been clamped in Aizawl Municipal area. However, certain people such as members of the task forces, security personnel, police, water supply department employees, people dealing in essential commodities and media persons have been exempted.
The police and local level task forces are maintaining round-the-clock vigil to prevent public movement and ensure that people stay indoors.
