Mizoram govt allots land to Commonwealth Games gold winning weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga

Mizoram government handed over a plot of land to Commonwealth Games gold medallist weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga today. Mizoram Sports and Youth Services Minister Robert Romawia Royte handed over documents regarding the plot of land to Lalrinnunga’s parents.

The decision to allocate a housing plot to Lalrinnunga was already approved by the state Cabinet after Jeremy won gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Royte expressed his gratitude to the land revenue and settlement department and the local council of Ainawn Veng, where Lalrinnunga resides, for facilitating the swift process of land allotment.

The Mizoram government has implemented a comprehensive awards system for athletes at various levels, including national, international, and Olympic competitions. Minister Royte extended his best wishes to Lalrinnunga as he continues his pursuit for an Olympic gold medal.
It is to be mentioned that Lalremsiami Zote, the first sportsperson from Mizoram claimed an Asian medal with her silver win at the Asian Games 2018, and was also allotted land in the town of Kolasib near the Assam border.
