The pineapple cultivation in Mizoram has achieved another milestone with the state exporting the second consignment of the juicy, delicious state-grown organic pineapples to Mumbai this month.
State Agriculture Director and Director of Mission Organic Mizoram (MOM), James Lalsiamliana on Thursday flagged off 600 kgs of luscious organic fresh pineapples to Mumbai’s Josie’s Kitchen, Northeast cuisines, for the second time this month.
The pineapples were cultivated by Tuichangral Organic Farmer Producer Co. Ltd.
The state government had earlier on August 2, 2023, exported 500 kgs pineapple shipment to Mumbai.
Earlier in 2022, the state government exported 230 kgs of pineapples harvested by farmers of Sialhawk village in northeastern Khawzawl district to Dubai.
Both these events drew considerable praise from celebrities and foodies alike, who could not stop complimenting Mizoram’s organic pineapples’ delicious flavor and quality.
In addition to Mizoram, pineapples from Meghalaya are also supplied to Abu Dhabi.
Pineapples from Meghalaya were displayed at the Al-Wahda mall at Abu Dhabi celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
