Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for as many as five projects in the state, to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 50.29 crores.

Three of the projects include a residential sports school, community service centre and smart classroom at West Phaileng village in Mamit district expected to be built at a cost of Rs 34.43 crores.
According to reports, the three projects will be funded by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram scheme.
Zoramthanga also laid foundation stones for Public Health Centre and a Feeding & Pumping Water Supply system to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.89 crore and Rs 12.96 crore at Reiek village, about 29 km from Aizawl.
Laying the foundation stone for the projects, Zoramthanga expressed that Mizoram has a vast scope for development and could become a role model for other states in terms of development.
Mizoram will not only become an economically self-sufficient state, but also produce goods for export in near future, he added.
The Chief Minister maintained that his government would continue making massive efforts to usher development in different sectors across the state.
