Mizoram: 2 from Tripura arrested with drugs worth over Rs 127 lakh

Excise and Narcotics Department, Mizoram has recovered a huge amount of methamphetamine tablets worth Rs over 1,27 lakh in two separate operations and arrested two person from Tripura in connection with the seizure.
Based on information, the Excise and Narcotics Department has launched a search operation in Aizawl on Saturday.
During the operation, the team intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio and recovered 20,000 methamphetamine tablets from the vehicle.
After conducting further investigations, the team recovered an additional 80,000 tablets, bringing the total number of tablets seized to 1,00,000, valued at Rs. 127,92,000 in the local market.
Arrested drug peddlers have been identified as– Litan Nama(28) and Jakir Hussain (23), both hails from Sepahijala district of Tripura.
The duo have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and were sent to Special Court (NDPS Act), Aizawl district.
