The Indian Army on Monday confirmed that there was a minor face-off between Indian and Chinese troops at Naku La area in Sikkim.

According to a statement released by the Indian Army, it is clarified that there was a minor face-off between Indian Army and PLA in Naku La area of North Sikkim on January 20th and the same was resolved by local commanders as per established protocols.

India has reportedly foiled an attempt by the Chinese to intrude across the border in Sikkim.

Meanwhile, the Army clarified to Northeast Live that a minor faceoff had taken in North Sikkim on January 20. It was also stated that the matter had been resolved by local commanders as per established protocols.

Earlier, reports had come in the media regarding the incident. While the army refrained from giving out much details, reports came in earlier today that 20 Chinese soldiers have been injured in the skirmish, while 4 Indian soldiers have sustained injuries.

Reportedly, the situation at the clash site is reportedly stable but still tense.

The Chinese Army is said to have suffered yet another setback in its attempt to alter the status quo along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at the hands of Indian army soldiers last week.

Around 20 Chinese soldiers were reportedly injured in the clash at Naku La. On the Indian side, 4 soldiers’ sustained injuries. The Indian Army soldiers, however, successfully managed to push back China despite hostile weather conditions in North Sikkim.

The two countries have been engaged in a stand-off along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since April-May last year. While China began amassing massive military strength along the LAC, India responded with a befitting build-up.
