Meth worth Rs 40 crore seized in Mizoram; one held

The man has been identified as 30-year-old Lalramthara, a resident of Chawnpui locality.

The War On Drugs continues in full swing in Mizoram. The state police seized 14. 504 kgs of Methamphetamine worth over Rs 40 crore in the international market, and arrested the person who was carrying it at Thakthing locality in Aizawl on Friday .

The man has been identified as 30-year-old Lalramthara, a resident of Chawnpui locality.

As per inputs, the Methamphetamine came from Myanmar via Champhai.

The apprehended person also told police that additional 6.26 kgs of Methamphetamine was stored at his residence, which the police immediately seized.

Yesterday, a female staff of Indigo Airlines posted at the Lengpui airport in Aizawl, who helped Mizoram Police seize Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth drugs) worth over Rs 25.49 crore from two Myanmar nationals and ammunition from a passenger from Manipur, was rewarded.

On October 3, Vanlalruati found 10 packets of suspected methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) weighing 10.200 kilograms with an estimated value of over Rs. 25.495 crore while screening check-in baggage at the Indigo screening point at Lengpui Airport.
