Meghalaya: Situation tense in Ichamati village after 2 persons found dead

Situation continues to be tense in Ichamati village in East Khasi Hills district following the alleged murder of two persons whose bodies were recovered from the roadside on Wednesday.

Speaking to Northeast Live, East Khasi Hills SP, Rituraj Ravi informed that additional police personnel have been rushed to Ichamati to ensure law and order.

SP Ravi said that the two dead bodies of L Esan Sing and L Sujit Dutta were recovered at Ichamati and Dalda respectively on Wednesday evening.

“The postmortem are yet to be done. Teams from local PS and additional teams from Shillong are at site. Further details to be shared,” said Ravi.

The SP also informed that the police have strong leads on some individuals who are suspected to have committed the crimes at Ichamati.

However, no arrests have been made so far. The police are investigating the motive behind the crime.
