Meghalaya: One killed, another injured after speeding truck rams two vehicles in Ri Bhoi

In a tragic accident, one person was killed while another was injured after a speeding truck rammed into two vehicles in Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi district today.
The incident occurred at around 12 o’clock in the afternoon, when a Guwahati bound truck rammed into a car and an auto rickshaw parked in a car washing centre along the National Highway 6 at the Pahamrioh village in Ri Bhoi.
The driver of the car lost his life on the spot, while the auto rickshaw driver received grievous injuries.
The deceased person has been identified as Anshu Kumar.
The injured person was rushed to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.
On recieving information about the accident, the Nongpoh Traffic Police rushed to the spot to conduct enquiry.
However, the truck driver managed to flee from the spot before police reached the accident site. Police has launched an operation to nab the escaped truck driver.
