Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma along with Mizoram CM Zoramthanga called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday to express their reservations over the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
Both Conrad Sangma and Zoramthanga were accompanied by their cabinet colleagues. The state of Meghalaya and Mizoram have repeatedly opposed the Citizenship Bill.
It may be mentioned, the Meghalaya cabinet has already passed a resolution against the bill, whereas Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga has categorically stated that the bill is not acceptable to the people of the state.
